Nine // The Wedding

In your ninth year we were treated to something you had never been part of before. Henry and Rachel decided it was finally time to get married. And they asked you to be a bridesmaid.

Not many people have that kind of honour in their lives… and you relished it. I had been fretting over my best man speech. Another thing that not many people get to drop. And to do it for your brother is a real honour.

But one that comes with more than a little pressure. I had to get it just right… and that was quite stressful.

The day of the wedding came and Henry, myself, Pete, Sam and one or two others went for a pre-wedding pint just near the town hall, where the wedding was taking place.

We finished our pints, exchanged some wedding-based banter, and headed into the hall. I didn’t know what you were wearing as it had all been kept a closely guarded secret from the men.

So when I finally saw you all coming down the aisle, whilst I should have been looking at the bride, it was you I was looking at. You were wearing a blue and white dress, your hair was up and you never stopped staring at Rachel in her stunning wedding dress the whole time.

You couldn’t have looked more beautiful, and couldn’t have been more proud.
