Tale 2023 started with an enormous New Year’s Eve party at our new house. The year full of travelling lay ahead of us.

 

After a brilliant ski holiday in Morzine, we returned our attentions to the United States of America. And not just anywhere in America, but Los Angeles - The city of Angels and home of Hollywood superstars.

 

When we arrived in Los Angeles, we went to collect the car that we had hired. And when asked, I said, “yes of course I ordered the big one.”

 

“I’m not sure that you have, sir,” said the friendly chap from the hire company.

 

“Well, my friend,” I said, “ I really hope there hasn’t been a mistake here, and we’ve got a small car. Because I absolutely hired the big one!” Angry now!

 

“No problem, sir,” he said, “ I’m pretty sure we have one of the big ones ready for you anyway.” Then he went to fetch the big one.

 

When it arrived, it was very clear that I had not, in fact, ordered a big one by American standards. 

 

I had an infact ordered what would be Big in the UK, but in America, and specifically Los Angeles, the car I had hired was frankly a little bit embarrassing to them. The car they gave us can really only be described as a tank. 

 

I think the highlights of the trip was going to 6 Flags is and seeing you enjoy enjoying multiple rollercoaster was pretty magical.
